Is Metronidazole Advisable For This Pap Test Result During Pregnancy?
Hi, I just want to ask..I m 21weeks pregnant..I undergo pap smear and the diagnose was predominance of coccobacilli consistent with shift in vaginal flora..My doctor prescribed me metronidazole 500mg 2x a day for one week..I m worried about the dosage and the safetiness of my baby.

Every antibiotic may have some bad effects on baby but metronidszole is one of the safer,however it should not be used if there is no indication for it and I am not sure if this is appropriate treatment in your case.
