Is Methoxsalen Intake Safe For The Treatment Of Psoriasis In A Child?

hello my daughter got the white patches on hands arms and legs. it is not by birth it came at the age of 3 yrs and now she is 11 yrs old. it seems to me that they stopped increasing and some has been removed from face. someone suggesting me to use METHOXSALEN TABLETS 10mg from INDIA. I arranged the medicine but I m not sure about it can I use it or not. is there any side effects please advise me or suggest what should I do. Thanks

Methoxsalen tablets are used in combination with UV therapy for psoariasis. This medication acts as photosensitiser. It has to be used under the guidance of a dermatologist who is an expert in phototherapy and treating psoariasis and vitiligo.
Methoxsalen is not tested and proved to be safe in children below 12 years. Inwould recommend you to consult your dermatologist and discuss the above things before initiating any treatment with Methoxsalen. Hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic.
