General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern.
Yes meprate is advisable for delayed period.
But in some case side effects may occur.
It contain norethisterone 5 mg, that is hormonal product that increased risk of thrombosis.

Following are common side effects:
headaches, nausea, irregular bleeding,
fluid retention, dizziness,
weight gain and depressed mood,
either sleepiness or insomnia,
bloating, a decreased or increased sex drive,
discomfort of the breasts.

But you shod discontinue or consult gynecologist if you have following side effects:
1.Migraine/ headaches or more frequent occurrence of unusually severe headaches;
2.signs of thrombophlebitis or thromboembolic symptoms like unusual pains in, or swelling of, the legs, stabbing pains on breathing or coughing , a feeling of pain and tightness in the chest.
3. onset of jaundice or generalised pruritus
4. significant rise in blood pressure

Hope this may help you.
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
