Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have been diagnosed as TB lymphadenities. I am taking medicines for more than 9 months. Still the lymph nodes are swollen around my neck. Initially i had to take 4 medicines. Now i am taking R-Cinex 450 along with Medrol. With the recent reports, my doctor advised me to take Medrol 4 mg (per day) and Picnovit - Pine Extract. My general physician told it is not advisable to take Medrol when you have tb. Please advise whether i can take Medrol and picnovit tablet.
Picnovit is a nutritional supplement and can be consumed with other anti-tuberculous therapy without any harmful side effects. The Medrol is an anabolic steroid and has many side effects if consumed without medical supervision. I would strongly recommend to consult your doc regarding pros and cons of the Medrol in your condition before starting the therapy ahead.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
