Is Maxzide The Same As Diazide?

Is Maxzide the same thing as Diazide? I have taken Diazide for several years (Triamterene/Hctz Tabs 37.5/25) - I get most of my meds thru Express Scripts. Today I received what is labeled as Generic for : Maxzide - 25 Tabs 37.5/25 (Triamterene/Hctz Tabs 37.5/25) The bottle I m using now has the same Triam label, but also says Mfg:Mylan which is not on the new bottle. The tablets appear the same. Thank you.

Yes, both of these contain same medications.

Maxzide or Diazide contains a combination of two diuretics or "water pills" Triamterene 37.5 mg plus Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg.

These drugs are used to treat high blood pressure. They are also used to treat oedema (fluid retention) as they cause you to make more urine, which helps your body get rid of extra salt and water.

So, Maxzide can be taken safely in place of Diazide.
