General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Coumadin is composed of 'warfarin sodium'. It is an anticoagulant that acts by inhibiting vitamin K dependent coagulation factors. Moderate interaction has been noted with Warfarin and Marijuana.

Hence, it is better to avoid intake of these two substances together. These substances may cause some risk when taken together. You may experience an increased chance for bleeding including bleeding from your gums, nosebleeds, unusual bruising, or dark stools.

If you have taken these together and have any signs of bleeding as mentioned above, you need to seek medical attention promptly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
