Is Kegel Exercise Recommended For Pelvic Pain Caused Due To Uterine Prolapse?

I had a hysterectomy about 8 years ago. About 1 year ago I had a prolapse that was Grade 1 and which I managed to halt with Kegel exercises. I suddenly have the symptoms of another prolapse only this time it feels worse. Can Kegel exercises still stop this and get rid of this horrible feeling of an egg and pelvic pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. Kegel exercise is very useful in case of mild uterine prolapse. There is no harm in trying it in your case.
To do Kegel exercises, tighten your pelvic muscles as if you are trying to hold back urine. Hold the muscles tight for a few seconds and then release. Repeat 10 times. You may do these exercises anywhere and at any time up to four times a day.
It will take long time to regain strength of your pelvic muscles. Kegels work best when done on a regular schedule. Consult your doctor if you don't notice improvement after doing Kegels for 3 or 4 months.
In case of intolerable and severe pain consult your doctor immediately.
Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.
Thank you.
