Is Iodine Supplement Advisable For Person With Hashimoto S Disease?

I am a 67 year old female, am insulin resistant, and have low Basal temps ranging from 96.2 to 97.4 depending on whether taken with digital or mercury thermometer. I have the Hashimoto antibody. Also overweight - 195, 5 5 . Question: should I take an iodine supplement? I do not eat table salt - use only Himalayan salt.
