Is Ibuprofen The Right Medicine For Severe Shoulder Blade Pain?

I have pain which seems to be under my right shoulder blade. Turning my neck far to the right pulls and makes it worse, turning left isn t as bad but still tugs on that same area. Moving while sleeping is painful and wakes me up. I ve been taking ibruprofen for over 48 hours, and have used a heating pad. What else should I be doing?

Hello,

From what you described it seems more likely a muscle pull and that is why your neck movements are painful.

So you are advised to take a muscle relaxant such as chlorzoxazone 500 mg along with Ibuprofen. It will really help relax your neck muscles and your neck movements will be easier.

Applying diclofenac gel on and around the affected area gently will also help relieve the muscle pain. Try not to move your neck unnecessarily.
More rest to neck will result in speedy recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
