Is Hydrocortisone Safe To Be Taken For Cushing S Syndrome?

I already am diagnosed with cushing syndrome, should I be taking hydrocortisone? I don t need to gain any more weight I have a extremely large tube of fat around my abdomen, a growing buffalo hump. I eat only a couple hundred calories but no doctor will believe me and when hospitalized for low potassium I was told I was a closet eater and when everyone leaves you can get out your stash. That is the kind of care I have run against everytime I go in.

Hello Dear
I evaluated your concern in depth .
@ Corticosteroid is not the drug for treating Cushing`s syndrome
on the reverse there is overproduction of cortisol in the body due to
some pathology causing Cushing or over dosage of exogenous
corticosteroids producing Cushing
@ So doctors recommend to taper the pre existing doses of
corticosteroids & then stop it , rather than giving it to treat Cushing
@ It is totally not safe to consume it for Cushing without doctor`s advise
Hope this will help you definitely .
Feel free to ask any further health related query in future anytime .
Thanks for using Health care magic .
