Is Haldol Injections Safe To Be Taken During Heart Attack?

My question is serious in nature. What is the danger of giving Haldol injections every six hours to a 74 year old male who has been hospitalized with need for emergency treatment for heart attack? My husband was admitted to hospital on July 6 and died of cardiac arrest on July 9 after being given Haldol injections as treatment for dementia. He had never taken any drugs for dementia before being hospitalized. My email address is YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

I am really sorry to hear about the shocking news of his department. To be honest, Haldol, if given in proper dose, is a safe drug. I do not understand if this can be related to the cardiac problem he suffered.

We commonly use this drug in appropriate dose to calm certain patients in hospital for any reason.

The arrest is more related to the cardiac attack. Cardiac attack it self is a major risk and almost half people die of it.
