2 years ago I was treated for H. pylori and after having my 2nd upper endoscopy, they said my hiatal hernia and gastric ulcers were gone, the inflammation was gone and the esophagus was clear. Can the H. pylori infection return again? I just had an upper G.I. and was told that I have a small hiatal hernia and possible ulcer. I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I am on Zantac 150 BID and intend to be much more strict about limiting my chocolate intake, I don t smoke, drink coffee or pop. I plan on returning to eating more vegetables and less processed food like I was doing last year when I lost 56#. Sadly, I have gained 30 of them back, which I imagine has contributed to these issues I am dealing with. I also plan on returning to the gym tomorrow! Please advise the possibility of having H Pylori once again. Thank you for your time.
