Hello,

I understand your concern, but in order for an HIV transmission to have happened in this case, there is a series of other things that need to have happened too. First of all, you do not know if there was any blood on the safety pin, second, assuming there was any blood, you do not know whether it was infected with HIV, third, you state that there was no breakage of the skin, since there was no bleeding, and for the transmission to happen, there needs to be a mixing of the infected (assumed) blood with your blood. There is a lot of assumption here and one guarantee: no blood to blood contact. Therefore, based on your description of the event, I assure you, there is no need for concern and you can be sure that there in no possibility of being infected.

Wishing you all the best.
