Is Garcinia Cambogia Advisable For Weight Loss?

I take 300 mg of Gleevec for chronic myelogenous leukemia daily. I also am on 75 mg of Plavix and take Losartan for blood pressure. I exercise 5-6 times a week for 25-30 minutes. Is it safe for me to take 500 mg of garcinia cambogia to promote some weight loss?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Yes, Garcinia Cambodia will help promote some weight loss.
It contains hydroxybutyric acid (HCA) which will help in burning fat and cut back appetite.

However, in your case, we should be cautious. If I was your caring doctor will determine the cause of increase in weight first.

I want to rule out water retention and electrolytes imbalance through checking them in blood.

Hope this helps.
