Is Eliquis Intake Safe When Suffering From Ulcerative Colitis?

I have uncreative colitis was hospitalized 25 yrs ago with sever bleeding, but bleeding has been in control since then with relatively few problems re the bleeding issues. I am 71 yrs old and in general good health. however, a cardiologist has recently prescribed Eliquis a blood thiner for atrial fib. I am concerned this will have an effect on my colitis and I will start bleeding again. The doctor said if this occurs, to call him immediately. I would not want to start bleeding again as the last time I had to have 2 blood tranfusions. I am seeing my gastroenterologist in two weeks. What is your opinion. Thank you Shirley A. Johnson
