Is Detrol More Effective Than Oxybutynin In The Treatment Of UTI S?

I used to be on detrol and now am on Oxybutynin . I was in the hospital with a serious bacterial urinary infection and had it a few months later also. I do not feel this drug works as well as detrol and I wonder if it had anything to do with these infections?

Hello,

Oxybutynin reduces muscle spasms of the bladder and urinary tract. Oxybutynin is used to treat symptoms of overactive bladder, such as frequent or urgent urination, incontinence (urine leakage), and increased night-time urination.

Detrol is used to treat an overactive bladder. By relaxing the muscles in the bladder, tolterodine improves your ability to control your urination. It helps to reduce leaking of urine, feelings of needing to urinate right away, and frequent trips to the bathroom. This medication belongs to the class of drugs known as antispasmodics. Both are of the same class medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
 Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
