Is Coreg The Right Medicine For High Heart Rate?

I didn t have high blood pressure, but I fainted at the YMCA during exercising. After having an angiogram and other tests, my doctor put me on the generic of Coreg twice a day 3.125 mg each. He said it was to slow down my heart rate. He said I need to hydrate more when I exercise also. Does that sound right?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that Coreg is the right medicine to help lower the heart rate. But, it may lead to low blood pressure or low physical performance and chronic fatigue, as common adverse effects. If you experience any of these adverse effects, I would recommend discussing with your prescribing doctor.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
