Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Clonazepam is a Benzodiazepine drug and the drug is a good drug for control of symptoms of anxiety and insomnia. The drug is a safe drug and is free of serious side effects. It is not advisable to take the drug on regular basis for more than 4 weeks unless specifically indicated. The dose of 0.5 mg is not a high dose but I would not advise you to take this drug on daily basis for long time. Try to take the drug on SOS basis once your symptoms are stabilised. This will not make you dependent and you can stop taking drug at any time. Abrupt stoppage of drug after regular intake is known to cause withdrawal so this should be avoided.

Thanks, Take care
