Is Ciproxin The Right Treatment For Typhoid, Cough?

My sister age 18 years is suffering from typhoid fever . Test on Jun 02-2014 Typhoidat IgM positive and ESR is 25 mm/1st hour. She is suffering from cough. She is taking Tab ciproxin 500 mg 1+1 and cough syp. Is this right treatment ? Any other suggestions.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood the history of typhoid and cough in your sister.
Ciproxin should work well as one time this was the medicine of choice for Typhoid.
Coughing may be due to typhoid itself and should be taken care of with the same medicines and additional symptomatic and supportive treatment,.
It there is no response within 3 days, there may be need to add/change over the present antibiotic.
In addition you have to give additional multivitamins.
