Is Cipro The Right Medicine For Urinary Tract Infection?

Hi there, I have a UTI, I was on cipro for 5 days with no improvement , went back to the doc and the did a culture, at that time my urine tested positive for a UTI...I have been on macrobid now for 3 days... They called me today to tell me to stop taking it cause the culture had no growth.... But I still have pressure and am urinating frequently, no burning , just a lot of pressure and my ovaries actually hurt .... My question is, could this be something worse or is it still possible this is just a bad UTI and I need to keep taking the antibiotics....also did it show no bacteria because I was already taking cipro before the culture was done??

Hello and thank you for your question.
The urine culture shows what organism causes the infection and what antibiotic will treat it. If the culture is negative then your symptoms are not caused by an infection and the antibiotics will be of no help. You need to see your doctor again to determine what is causing the symptoms. You may need a referral to a neurologist.
