Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am thinking of trying the cla safflower oil, I am 76 female 5.4 and weigh 215 pds. I need to drop at least 40 pds and am wondering if I should try it. Two uears ago I had a lumpectomy to remove a cancerous tumer and I was told at that time I should avoid soy as much as possible so I want to know if this product has soy init. Thank you
I understand your concern. CLA safflower oil is claimed to be a weight loss aide on the claim that it blocks storage of fats and reduces appetite. These claims have not been verified through studies or research and scientifically speaking, this oil is high on caloric content, leading to suppressed appetite.
Safflower oil does not contain soy and it is linked to weight loss results, however the best way to lose weight in a healthy and durable way is lifestyle changes such as a healthy eating regimen and light consistent physical activity. I recommend you see a dietitian for a properly tailored regimen for your age and health condition.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you all the best.
Regards, Dr. Ornela Ademovi
