Is C-section Procedure Safe At 36 Weeks Of Fetal Growth?
My wife is in her 37th week 0 days & growth scan showing the fetal growth of 34 weeks 5 days, so the doctor is suggesting for C-section after about weeks time to avoid any suffocation to the fetus if planned for the scheduled delivery. Pls advice, is it ok to go for delivery at the fetal growth of about 36 weeks..............

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Physical development of the fetus is completed by 27 weeks growth. If the estimated weight of the baby is 2.5 kgs or above, LSCS can be planned to cover risk in normal delivery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
