Is Betnasole Safe To Take During Pregnancy?

doctor my wife have an pregnacy with 35 week now doctor advice her betnasole injection two dose with a gap of 12 hrs, stating that it help baby to breath normaly during birth. doctor also suggest premature delivery by 36 week. is betnasole safe for her?

her weight is 47 kg.

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion betanasol injection about 2 doses is given in cases with suspicion for preterm labour.because if the baby delivers prematurely it's lungs would not have completely matured by that time.So betanasol is given as it causes lung maturity.It is not harmful to baby or mother.Usually preterm delivery is done in cases of complications associated with pregnancy like uncontrolled BP or preterm labour for any reason.
