General & Family Physician 's  Response
Chlamydia trachomatis is a sexually transmitted infection. There are chances of other infections such syphilis, gonorrhea, chancroid, HIV, and hepatitis B/C. Coverage for other infections is needed. Get tested for all these infections. Azithromycin 1 gram single dose orally is sufficient for clearing Chlamydia infection from the body.
Advice
1.     Ceftriaxone 250 mg intramuscular single dose
2.     Azithromycin 1gm single dose (4 tablets of 250 mg) orally
3.     Metronidazole 400 mg every 12 hours orally after meal for 7 days
4.     Take hepatitis B vaccine – 3 doses – on 0, 1 and 6 months
5.     Use condom before sex
6.     Investigations
a.     VDRL
b.     HBsAg (Australia antigen)
c.     HCV DNA
d.     HIV screening
Inform your partner also about the disease and ask him to take the same treatment.
Thanks
