Is Augmentin, Effective For Perichondritis In Ear?

I ve had the top of my ear pierced for a couple of days now and it s red, all the cartilage is swollen and painful, and the lymph node behind my ear is swollen. No puss coming out but I m pretty sure it s perichondritis. Will Augmentin 1 gm be enough to cure the infection? And would topical application of fucidin help?

hello,thanks for your query, augmentation oral dose is 625 mg thrice daily. augmentin do work for perichondritis. in case of resistant infection it may not work, kindly evaluate with an ent surgeon. hope i have answered your query. all the best. take care.
