Is Atorvastatin Advisable For A Person With This Lipid Profile Report?

I was prescribed Atorvastatine 20 mg by my doctor to reduce the risk of a heart attack. My blood results are as follows: my value HDL is 48mg/dl. My LDL value is 93mg/dl and my cholesterol high density Lipo Prain my value is 3.3. Do I really need to take it? My concern is that this is an inhibitor.

Hi,

Just seeing, its not absolutely necessary, but it's usually started considering the whole picture like risk factors and all.

So as far as just report is concerned in absolutely healthy person without any risk factors, I would go lifestyle modifications rather than initiating statin.

Hope I have answered your query.
