Is Ashwagandha Beneficial For Thyroid Problems?

53 yo F w/Hashimoto taking 175mcg for two years with no success and continued weight gain & hair loss. Want to try Ashwagandha and other thyroid/immune building foods and herbs. Suggestions for safely clearing the drug from my system before trying would be appreciated. Sincerely, Tama Chambers

Ashwagandha is a medicinal herb used sine may centuries. It boosts immunity, increases physical performance, reduces fatigue, helps insomnia and has many other benefits. you have to take it for at least 6 months for sustained effects. However it may not directly be beneficial for thyroid diseases. You must consult an Endocrinologist and get appropriate management for the Thyroid ailment.
