Is Adipex Safe To Use To Lose Weight?

Hi, I am a 53 year old woman whose has lost 45 lbs in the last year but I seem to have reached a wall. I am still more than 50 lbs over weight. I have a relative that was put on adipex and she lost more than 20 lbs. I really want to get below 200 lbs. I have high blood pressure, and am staring diabetes in the face. Does Adipex seem like something that might be safe for me to use?

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in HCM, I understand your concern.
Losing weight can be really slow , its good that you have lost 45 lbs in a year, continuing the low calorie balanced diet with good exercises can help you shed the extra pounds too. Weight loss will be slow in the beginning and you wont find much change, but once you get into the routine diet and exercise you can drop off pounds much faster.
Considering that you have high blood pressure , i would not suggest you take Adipex because it could cause some serious side effects.
Losing weight by conservative means will be good in your case, and it wont be difficult .
Meanwhile , consider meeting a physician for management of your blood pressure and seek a dietician's help to prescribe you a suitable balanced diet menu.
Hope this helps.

Wish you good health and good luck on the weight loss.
