I'm scheduled for surgery Wednesday fora bone spur on my heel that had caused my Achilles tendon to become a big lump. I have to decide how I'm going to cope for the recuperation period. The podiatrist suggested an external fixator. Otherwise I guess it will be a combination of wheelchair and one of those scooter-like things you kneel on. I'm looking for help choosing.

I need shoulder arthroscopy surgery for a bone spur that has caused me pain increasingly. I hesitate to schedule it because I am on blood pressure meds and have a low resting heart rat of 45 to 55 bpm. I m a 61 yr old woman in good condition otherwise. Am I being overly worried about doing this surgery?

I have gone through 3 pain blocks w/o relief. The MRI has revealed bone spurs, erosion of the spine (C-5/C-6), narrowing, significant arthritis and a pinched nerve that is causing relentless pain. Surgery has been deemed necessary. What is entailed? I meet back with the N/S next week for scheduling. Is this O/P or I/P?
