I'm on amlodipine 10 mg per day but my bp continue to be high (was 220/110 just now). I've been hospitalized & found nothing but a-fib. My dad, his dad and his mother as well as his grandfather all had history of strokes. Suggestion?
Oh, I've cut down considerablly on salt and all caffine out of my diet. In the past 8 or 9 years I've had over 150 units of whole blood. Both lungs have been surgically reduced due to blebs, both hips replaced, 8 surgeries on L-1 thru L-5 (3 of which were fusions), left leg amputated 3"below knee & right leg amputated 8" above the knee. I'm very aware of my health and ask questions until satisfied. However it seems my blood pressure is either too confusing to my general doctor and the fine people at Duke Medical Center or there's nothing left to do.
This is really scaring my wife of 32 years (we're only in our late 50s).
