I'm going on vacation with a friend who in in the early stages of ALS. She's lost the ability to speak and is beginning to lose the ability to swallow. I'm sure she's gotten an ok from her doctor to make the trip, but I'm concerned about what to do if we're out for a meal and she can't swallow. Besides calling 911, what could I do to help her until the first responders arrive?
