If One Has A Local Pain In The Lower Back,

If one has a local pain in the lower back, that only is apparent when touch or doing activities, is it just sore or fractured. About 10 day ago I was sitting on a 9" step stool and feel backwards on my lawn. There was no immediate pain. It is sore to touch and it has pain when I walk up stairs.
