I was prescribed adderal by a psychiatrist in another state. I took it for 2 years with no adverse side effects and felt better than I had in many years. I had a written prescription for more when I suddenly had to move to another state. This state could not honor an out of state prescription for a controlled substance. I went to a psychiatrist in this state and she refused to prescribe me the adderall. i told her my symptoms which included constant tiredness and inability to concentrate. I had been diagnosed with adult ADD, social anxiety and depression. For about 20 years I had been prescribed different antidepressants that at best did nothing, but did cause severe wieght gain. When I was finally prescribed adderall along with Vibryd noticed a marked positive result. during the interview with this new psychiatrist she asked if I was hearing voices or seeing things that werent there. I did not. She also told me point blank that I did not seem to have any indications of bipolar disorder. My question then is Why would she then prescribe me Abilify which is specifically for Bipo;ar disrder and Schizophrenia and whose noted side effects are drowsieness, tiredness, and weight gain which I clearly do not need?
