I was prescribed Doxycycline about four weeks ago and on day 3 I started to develop terrible stomach aches, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. After two days, I went to my PCP. I stopped the antibiotic's however, I continue to have stomach aches (no loss of appetite) and frequent loose stools. I have completed a dose of Flagyl about two weeks ago. The last few days I have noticed mucus in my stool as well as on the toilet paper, and also an urgency to go to the bathroom. It's really weird because I have no history of any GI issues. I am 52 years old, female. The stomach aches have improved, but the mucus and urgency have lingered on. I probably have 7-8 bathroom trips for this reason. I always have something when I go, sometimes more than others. My bum is really sore from all of this. I have never been a once a day B/M person, more like 2-3 days. What do you think I need to do?
