I Was Melting Marshmallows In An Oven Using A Plastic

I was melting marshmallows in an oven using a plastic bowl for insulation. As I tasted the finished product, it tasted something wrong. For concern, I melted a marshmallow using a glass bowl and tasted it. The latter's taste is somewhat different from the former. Is it because the melted plastic particles joined in with the marshmallow melt? Will I ever get a disease because of this?
