I Was Just Prescribed Omerprazole Dr 40mg With A Refill
I was just prescribed Omerprazole Dr 40mg with a refill of 6 times ... the agreement with my doctor was that I would just take this VERY short term meaning tops 3 wks until my tel con with his office / so he could tell if acid was actually my problem .... It's important to know, I have never taken any acid relief prescriptions or OTC's also I am very sensitive to all med's usually only need the very lowest dose to accomplish success. After discussion with my pharmacist, I am extremely reluctant to take this medicine. He explained how it works and it most definately sounds like it is NOT something you just STOP taking. My question is this.... is my pharmacist correct in telling me that "it" shuts off the acid (he explained how) however, when you stop taking .... the acid is turned back on (and he went into detail) - understood. And is it actually a med that you need to be weened off of?? Thank you in advance for your input.
