I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis last November after a colonoscopy. I took medicines prescribed by my gastrologist and did not get relief. My doctor had me to have a sigmoidoscopy in April this year and this test revealed NO ulcerative colitis. I am now taking (on a regular basis) “intestinal soothe and build” and a product called Restore, and a probiotic VSL#3. I have been doing very well with these natural products. However, for four months now, I have had an unusually protruding stomach. It is not normal. I weighed about 123 pounds before this, and now I weigh around 128, but this is not a regular gaining weight. I am seeing my doctor and had a recent blood test to especially check my thyroid. The results came back a little high, so my doctor prescribed 75 mg. Levothyroxine. I have taken this for only about 11 days, so there is no change in my swollen belly. Your thoughts are appreciated.

I have a pain that is located in my lower front pelvic area just above my penis. The pain just started this afternoon then subsided. It came back after I was in bed, I took 2 extra strength tylenol and the pain is milder now. I felt the need to have a bowel movement but nothing happened. When the pain was a bit more severe I felt slightly nauseated. It feels like someone is pressing really hard in this area. I have been diagnosed previously with ulcerative colitis in 2004. I have had a UTI in July that was treated with antibiotics and no symptoms since then. I do not have pain urinating, and have urinated approximately 10 times today.

Hi, I have had ulcerative colitis for two years now and most of time I have this white tissue that comes out of my rectum when I urinate and have a bowel movement. Sometimes it is attached to my stool, sometimes it come out on it s own just before I release the stool. Does this have anything to do with my colitis? I have small streaks of blood in my stool but am not in a full blown flare-up. Thank you for your help!
