I Was Diagnosed With Type 2 Diabetes On 16th August.

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes on 16th August. I took 1 Metformin, changed my entire diet to plant based changed my lifestyle - walking up to 3 miles per day (mainly after meals) , have lost 2st 4IIb. My fasting blood - morning averages 6.2mmol/l Average pre meal reading in afternoon 5.2mmol/l and after meal 6.4mmol/l. THe nurse told me to stop taking the Metformin. The readings were higher for the week - averaging 6.8mmol/l before meals and 7.4mmol/l after eating once I stopped taking the Metformin. Should I start taking the Metformin again?
