Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was bit by a pit bull 4 days ago with only (luckily) two puncture wounds. I was given a tetanus shot because the dog had all her rabies shots and given an antibiotic to take for 7 days (still taking). I have been taking ibuprofen 200mg off and on as well as icing the area when resting but the area between the two puncture holes is numb to the touch and it's concerning me. The ER doc only saw me for about 5mins and made no mention of my concern, only warned about signs of infection. Is this a permanent problem? Should I be seen by another physician who has time for a thorough exam?
