I was at the dentist today and she asked me about the purple spot on my tongue. It had not been there before. When she showed me in the mirror it was very obvious and there was no way I could have missed seeing it. It did not hurt, it was not raised or hard. Without seeing I would never have known it was there. It looked like a bruise but my dentist said bruises on the tongue are usually not purple. She told me to keep an eye on it and if it was not gone in 2 weeks to go back and see her. What could the purple spot be?
