Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I walk with a cane in my right hand. I cannot lift the right leg without it. Recently I have been having lots of pain in the shoulder. Lately it has been extra painful but I now find it isn't my shoulder but about four inches below on the upper arm. And the pain is not constant. I notice that if I bend my elbow to an acute angle it really hurts and when I am resting or sleeping the pain comes in short and stabbing bursts. I also notice that if I am sleeping I sometimes wake myself up moaning. I take Vicodin and Neurotin for my back and hip pain. I have had two major back surgeries, the last surgery took almost 8 hours and I have rods from my T-12 to the S-1. A torn abductor tendon is actually why I use the cane. The muscle over by my left hip died so it doesn't keep my level. Is this new generation of pain something I should be concerned over and though I know you cannot offer an actual diagnosis I would appreciate knowing something about the cause of this new pain. Thank you for your time whether or not you can offer me guidance.
