I Stretched My Achilles Tendon Jogging About 6 Weeks Ago

I stretched my achilles tendon jogging about 6 weeks ago with some discomfort/pain reaching up to my lower calf muscle. I started back jogging and reinjured the achilles/calf area again. I put ice on it the first couple of days. I took Naproxen Sodium for about 3 weeks to reduce the swelling. After using crutches a couple of days and a boot (I've had this injury in the past), after a few days I can walk flat footed without pain. Although I never experienced any side effects I stopped Naproxen Sodium a few days ago because I didn't want to chance stomach or other serious problems. My concern is the swelling (top of my foot, around the achilles up through and including my calf (which is now noticeably larger than my other calf has never gone down. I really have never experienced any pain or discomfort, except for 2 or 3 days following the injury if I stepped on the foot, but I'm concerned about the prolonged swelling up to and including the calf. When should the swelling go down? Will it go down by itself in time? I want surgery to be a last resort, although at some point I would like to resume jogging. Any advise? Thank you.
