I Received A Cortizone Shot For The L4 Nerve Block

I received a cortizone shot for the L4 nerve block and had an adverse reaction the clinic called "flare" and "a zinger". This is the second short for the L4 and I did not even feel the first one it worked marvelously almost immediately with no problems with the site injection. The second short was extremely painful and apparently another nerve was 'nicked' before reaching the L4 - I have experienced a lot of pain since this second shot. Along with other symptoms that have now subsided, my ankles have swollen to twice their size since the shot and I wonder if this is another side effect of the 'zinger' or if this is something completely unrelated. I am a 73 year old female. Thanks.
