I just had cataract surgery. I am 62. Monofocal toric IOL were inserted, one for near sight and one for far, with a diopter differential of approx. 1.75. The one where I am supposed to see close up I cannot, but I see vvery well for distance. The other one I just had done today (the first was yesterday) and I can see the same distance with that one but much less closeup. I am very nervous because a) I see flickering in each eye a lot of the time, and b) my close up vision is very poor. I play the piano and thought that at least the music would be OK at that distance, but I seem to need "cheater" glasses, +1.5 and then I am fine. I cannot read my very large Iphone without cheaters on either. I am afraid the close up prescription wasn't strong enough. I might add that I have worn monovision contacts for over 25 years and was quite used to that. Thanks for your help.
