I Just Got A New Bottom Removable Retainer, My First

I just got a new bottom removable retainer, my first one actually, due to the non-removable one breaking and my teeth moving. The dentist had to take an impression twice, and discovered that the mould had pressed against my right, I think, jawbone and had caused some pain.
Now, whenever I put in my retainer, a spot on the inner right side of my jaw hurts. When I take it out to eat and I touch the area with my tongue or put any pressure on it, it also hurts. My teeth and the left side, however, feel fine. Is this normal or should I call the dentist?
