female, 46, slightly over weight 255lbs, 6ft. have had cronic back, neck issues since MVA s in 2002 and 2004. before Nov 2011 i had severe low L sciatic pains; shooting pains, instant and or continuing numbing of left left leg to big toe. Nov 3rd started day off with severe virtigo. could not even turn my head in bed with out my eyes acting like a pingball game. could not stand, move my eyes or head. started vomiting later that night; possibly bad pizza previous night. vomiting stopped in 2 hrs. Emergency gave me antibiotics and nose spray. Didn t help much. BETAHISTINE 16mg(only last 2 hrs). Vertigo continued. except- sciatic pain was now gone. felling has now returned to big toe. was treated for possible sinus infec from the vomitting. Along with the spins I am also smelling cigerette smoke everywhere. No fever, no nausea, bowels, urine, fine. Have had issues with my ears/sinuses since I was born but never vertigo. Any ideas?

I had a bad spell of vertigo along with pain and tightness in right arm. I went to emergency and all blood tests were good and EKG was good. However the vertigo has gone with medication. I had a CT of head and report says that a questionable small focal hypo density is noted. The arm pain still exists if I start doing things. Once I rest it subsides. I do have a mechanical heart valve. Had this since 2003. I am now 64. My question is ....... What is this and is it serious. What can I do to ease the arm pain when I get it?
