I Have Today Had My First Infusion Of Oxaliplatin -

I have today had my first infusion of oxaliplatin - into a vein to enable me to start treatment earlier than waiting to organise a portacath. The infusion had to be stopped and recommenced in my other arm because of intense pain along the vein (no obvious extravasation) and a feeling that my whole arm was on fire (also too painful to touch or move. I was told it would improve with time, given a cream that I can't apply because of the pain, and advised to take painkillers.
I would be very grateful if you had any other suggestions, thank you.
