Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently had a semen analysis and it has come back with only 2% normal sperm (other parameters are normal). The result was: Normal: 2% Amorphous: 75% Tapering: 18% Coiled Tail: 3% Double Head: 1% Giant Head: 1% Volume: 3.8mm Count: 90million/ml Motility: 52% Non Motile: 42% Sluggish: 6%
My question is mainly what does amorphous mean here - is that that they are dead, is it that they are are usable sperms in some circumstances, or that they would not be able to shake off their heads to impact material into the egg? Or does it mean that it is not possible to use these.
For your information I had childhood cancer, radiotherapy and some chemotherapy drugs that are know to have long term fertility issues. I am 34 years old.
Could you assist me in working out exactly what this means?
