I have parkinson's disease. I am taking cardidopa/levodop tab 25/250 four times a day. 9 a.m. 1 p.m. 5 p.m. and 9;00 pm. My dose of the cadidopa/levodop was changed from 3 x a day to 4x a day in July 2015. Since about that time I have been having diarrhea on and off along with nausea, no appetite, feel like vomiting (sometimes I do vomit). The last two months or so I have had these symptoms more frequently.
Two weeks ago I consulted my gastrointestinalogist, who is treating me for acid reflex, I take 30 mg of lansoprazole 1 x per day due to the severity of the above symptoms. He advised me to take imodium in the morning, if I wake up with the aforementioned symptoms. The symptoms continued. He didn't want to do anything invasive--do a endoscopy because i was operated for a brain annurism. Since the symtpms were not getting any better, he ordered a complete study of my stool. Whatever he was looking for came back negative. He offered no type of treatment, other than to go to the E.R. of a hospital where they could do some other types of testing, blood work, they did an ultrasound of my abdomen and of my brain all testing came back negative.
I am still suffering with these symtoms. Does P.D. and/or the Sinemet cause me to have these problems and if so, what can my neurologist do about t?
Should I consult with my Neurologist ?
He did all the blood work necesary
