I have nodules that grow bigger with time and have deformed several of my fingers. they are on the finger joint closest to the finger nail. I've been tested for rheumatoid arthritis but show no antibodies in my blood.I remember my grandmother on my mother's side having them & my mother does as well. I have several siblings. we are all in our late 50's to early 60's. mine started growing in my 40's. Do you am idea of what this is? Yes, they can be painful at times. i notice small red dots on either side of the growths before they're getting ready to grow larger or jump to another finger.
